Misplaced Seasons- 4 part project

Autumn – Winter
Stark, sophisticated, contrast, abstract.
This collection will be quite abstract, with a tonal colour palette; I will be using wools and silks to create the contrast feel. Looking at the silhouettes of the dark Scottish countryside mixed in with the unexpected fog; wet and dry, this will influence my choice of fabrics within the collection.
Fabric- Wools. Silks. Velvet. This is to create contrast, layers.
Techniques- Print. Flock, layers.

New Imagery Direction

Winter – Spring
Contrast in smooth v textured, neutral, simplistic.
Moving on from the abstract feel, I will be now be looking at my drawings, and creating texture from them. Looking at the unexpected beauty, like cherry blossom, or fairy primrose, these will influence my delicate approach to this collection.
Fabric- Velvet cotton, sheer, swede. Smooth surface- texture on top.
Techniques- Fabric manipulation. Thick yarn embroidery with foil printed on top.

Summer – Autumn
Dark, mysterious, glamorous.
Leaves falling off the trees, flowers dying, this collection will be digital printed. The leaves that survive the rain and wind, and the moss up the side of the trees will help me combine texture and my drawing skills.
Fabric-Velvets and light weights silks for embellishment ideas.
Techniques- Digital printing and embellishment.
